In the past I've used the Adobe Customization Wizard and the bootstrap method (setup.exe and setup.ini) to deploy Acrobat Pro.
After reading some of Adobe's improved documentation for 9, I wanted to try the msiexec PATCH method.
This is the command I am trying, as the SYSTEM account: (with qb+ just while testing)
msiexec.exe /i AcroPro.msi PATCH=AcroProStdUpd910_T1T2_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd912_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd920_all_incr.msp;AcrobatUpd930_all_incr.msp TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst /qb+
This fails immediately with: 'This patch package could not be opened. Verify it exists blag blah'
The variations I have tried are using the 1033.mst instead of my custom one, and only trying to apply the 910_T1T2 patch. I also tried the AcroProEx910 patch with the same problem.
If I use the bootstrapper (also from the SYSTEM account), adding in these lines to the setup.ini it works fine:
PATCH= (as above)
CmdLine=TRANSFORMS=AcroPro.mst
If I use msiexec to install just the MSI, and then use msiexec /p to install the patches, that works fine as well.
Ideas why this is failing? It's not the end of the world, I'll just use the bootstrap method, but I'm not in a rush and I figure I might learn something.
